Comments CommentsCold, windy, but blue sky day. Views reaching to Katahdin. Managed 35K vertical.

King Pine and Timberline were on wind hold (actually saw some liftees waiting at King Pine, but around lunchtime Sugarloaf tweeted that the lifts wouldn't open). Skyline was initially on wind hold, with the T-Bar running instead, but opened an hour or so later. West Mountain did not operate.

Conditions were fantastic at opening - wall to wall packed powder on the groomed trails, even the steeps. A few steeps were blown down to hardpack by the end of the day, but on the whole, conditions were still good. The King Pine Trails were particularly nice, as the long runout without the quad spinning deterred people for venturing over. Some of the narrower trails still had nice packed powder, such as Old Winter's Way and Springboard.
