Comments CommentsOpening night at Whaleback; $20 for a 3 hour ticket.

One top to bottom run open (Ambergris to Spout), which had good man made coverage, just about wall to wall. Nice packed powder/loose granular surface.
Dorsal has enough snow whaled up that it can open as soon as its pushed out. Also enough snow to get down to the Face-Spout junction, but no whales beyond there yet (noted what appeared to be a pipeline leak that put some surface water on Face).

From the T-Bar, Lower Face was groomed about half width with decent man made coverage. Blubber was open, but thin. Lower Ivory had good coverage.

No lift lines. Friendly lift operators.

The cold weather and new pipeline have put Whaleback way ahead of its prior snowmaking campaigns.
