Comments CommentsSunny spring skiing in November. Decent weekday crowd, with the available K1/Snowden lots filled and folks parked down at Rams Head as well.

From the top of K1, Great Northern was the only groomed route, however FIS, Cascade, Downdraft, and Catwalk were open (down to Great Northern). FIS, Cascade, and Downdraft had an icy base with some bumps in between. Catwalk was packed powder bumps with some rocks sticking up.

North Ridge complex was mostly open, with the blues mostly groomed. Rime was scratchy, but the other blues were pretty good. Powerline was closed, while upper Ridge Run was bony (connect the dots around ice/dirt).

In the Canyon area, Lower East Fall was open, but ungroomed. Frozen granular, but not particularly icy. That said, very uneven with random crevasses (ground still warm) and vertical troughs. Spillway runout was groomed, but a little thin in some places. Canyon Quad was not running, but the ramps are all set up. Noted guns hosed up on Cascade proper and that some snow had been made above that headwall.

All of the blues on Snowdon were open with the exception of Frolic (noted some piles). Upper Royal Flush/Full House were open down to Great Northern on natural snow and okay. Upper Mouse Run, Bunny Buster, and Chute were decent. Great Bear was open, but very thin (wasn't even willing to continue to the bridge and below, as there were lots of bare spots, and open waterbar, and a portion of the remaining snow had been chewed up by snowcat tracks). Midstation was getting thin with some dirt and rocks popping up prior to the tunnel, as well as near/in the Great bear tunnel. The Chute headwall was getting fried by mid afternoon and not worth it. Lower trails were a little heavy with the traffic and warmer temperatures (plus the corduroy didn't set up overnight). Noted guns hosed up on Highline.

Rams Head had one way open - Caper down to Snowdon, then Great Northern back to the base. Noted snowmakers hosing up guns on Header and Easy Street.

Skye Peak was closed due to this weekend's World Cup races. Looks like three groomed ways down (Superstar, Skyelark, Bittersweet). In addition, it looks like Blue Heaven has been pushed out (at least up high), so presumably some of this terrain could open next week.
