Comments CommentsDecent amount of terrain open, but not as much as one might expect due to mechanical holds and racing. Sunny morning, but sub zero temps and a stiff wind.

Ram's Head had Easy Street, as well as lower Header open (decent subzero frozen packed powder). The upper half of header hasn't seen any snowmaking yet and doesn't have too much base. Alpine Training Venue trail was closed to the public. Lift was unbearable to ride, as the wind was whipping straight down the line.

Did not ski too much off Snowdon. Frolic and Upper Mouse Run were decent. Highline was frozen granular with some weird grooming tracks.

K1 Gondola was closed all day reportedly due to a mechanical issue. Canyon Quad did not open. One could access North Ridge Quad via Snowdon. Despite the cold, high winds, the North Ridge Quad was fairly protected from the wind angle today. The intermediate stuff was nicely groomed and saw very little traffic. In terms of the Canyon trails, only Lower East Fall was groomed, which was decent. The other stuff looked iffy with some visible ice, as well as random snow drifts, etc.

The very top and very bottom of Superstar looked terrible - lots of ice visible. The middle third looked good. Sky Lark was closed for racing. Bittersweet was decent with occasional boilerplate patches, but the final pitch was directly into the wind and unpleasant.

Needle's Eye was on hold in the morning and looked to be having an issue (shut down just as we were getting ready to load one time), but we did get to ride it later in the morning. Cruise Control and Needle's Eye were okay, but Panic Button was rough. High Road off Northbrook Quad was nice. Did not venture onto Snowshed.

No lift lines and trails were generally not too crowded. Headed to Pico for the afternoon (counts as the same day ticket/Ikon day).
