Comments CommentsRecently added to the Indy Pass, Abe made for a super fun afternoon, as well as a nice change in vibe and crowds. We arrived shortly after lunchtime to find the East chair fairly empty. There was on one groomed open trail down from the top terminal (Frostbite Falls to Boris Badenox), which was fun, and a smidge choppy, with white ice later in the afternoon. Lallypalooza was groomed and ready to go with a fine patch of powder alongside it, but for some reason they had it roped off. We decided it must not have enough cover around the corner. Could have opened up a lot more natural terrain too, if it had been open. Oh well.

Most other trails that were open were natural and still a nice combination of powder and white ice. Some trails had been bumped up, others were just chopped enough to keep you awake. Easy Rider was fun top to bottom, Snowfields had a gorgeous view by the towers later in the afternoon, and was fun as well. I skipped half of the trail under the lift line later in the day, but Jerm continued. Snake was also natural and a lot of fun, coming out onto Easy Rider to finish the run off well.

The West chair had fun terrain as well, with less pitch. Mahoosuc Meadow was the only groomed way down from that chair, with partial grooming on Skyline Drive and apparently a touch in Egomaneah too. The remaining trails were fun soft powder that had been skied down in places making for a good time. We managed to make a few crossovers from one side of the mountain to the other to keep it interesting.

The lift attendants were awesome, great attitudes and super fun for the kids. They were ready for plenty of situations, and acted quickly when necessary. A really refreshing thing to see!
