Comments CommentsGreat conditions!! Fresh powder over the weekend made for stellar skiing. Even Downspout leading to Heavens Gate chair wasn't bad! Ripcord was fun with a mix of mild and moderate bumps, more solid up top with bits of ice popping through, but sweet soft snow the lower you went. Skipped Organgrinder which was bumped on the upper portion, but took Jester all the way down, it was great.

Made a quick trip over to Castlerock complex (my first time over there!) and had a fun run down Middle Earth. Troll Road had seen a groomer (RARE), and looked like fun. We avoided the growing line back at the base of the chair and headed back to the base for lunch, then hopped on the Gatehouse lift. We used the singles line to our advantage and quickly made our way over to Slide Brook to find they were delayed momentarily for small maintanence. Instead of waiting we opted for a run off the Lynx Chair which was interestingly groomed at the bottom but pushed up at the top - great snow though!

Finally made our way over Slide Brook to Ellen, and played around for a couple hours. GMX is still running on diesel, North Ridge and Summit were running normal. Panaroma was beautiful, and in great shape! Rim Run, Elbow and Lookin Good were fantastic. Lookin Good had some mild bumps at the top, smooth sailing under the lift line, and the junction to Rim Run on skiers right had fun quick bumps before dumping out. Clouds from the incoming storm moved in quickly, and enveloped the summit. We took the cue and went over to Inverness to play around on the natural trails there. Fun easy conditions on Walts, definitely more moderate bumps on Semi-Tough, aptly named. Racers wrapped up they're activities after lunch and patrol reopened the trails. Brambles was fabulous, no one had really been on it even though there had been gates!

Absolute blast.
