Comments CommentsGood half day of skiing today at Crotched! Got in the parking lot a little before opening, and got on the chairlift slightly after opening. The cord was nice at the start, and there were no lines for the first hour. At about 10 it started to get busier, with the line beginning to spill a little out of the queue (though the queue for the Rocket lift is not long, so the wait was still only 5min or so). Snow held up pretty well, but the skier volume on the trails was starting to become high, with Galaxy being pretty bumper to bumper at points. Around 11:30 it started to empty out a bit again, and the skier volume on the trails became a bit more manageable. Snow held up pretty well until I left just before one, though Satellite Summit and Magnitude were starting to get a bit bumpy. The snow was pretty deep, with very few bare spots (just a few on Satellite Summit), definitely better coverage than expected, and definitely the deepest I have skied this season so far.

I was again impressed with the enforcement of COVID precautions at Vail's resorts. Most people were wearing masks and those who were not were promptly instructed to when spotted by an employee. Lines were socially distanced both vertically (naturally) and horizontally as they had plenty of space in between lines. No singles line, which was disappointing. Singles could pair up with another single on the quads, but there was no pressure whatsoever to do so, which I appreciated because on quads I'd prefer to go single (6-pack I'd be fine pairing up).

Overall a great day at Crotched, and I can't wait to come back next week!
