Comments CommentsTried to get to as many new places as possible that opened up over the course of this week. Lots has opened up since, and more is yet to come which is a great sign.

I headed out today at 9:45 and went directly for Spruce, trying to get that nice morning corduroy on Risky and American Express. After a couple runs there I went to Aurora via Sirius and Aldura. Aurora was pretty much an icy human slalom from start to finish. Despite being fairly new for skiing this year, I felt like they rushed to get Airglow and Black Hole open for skiing. Snow was hard and rocky, and (Of course) ice was everywhere. After jumping onto Jordan Bowl, the snow was not as bad. Excalibur and Lallapaloza were a big difference compared to what I had just skied. On my way by Oz (Via Kansas), I noticed that Lost Princess was now open after about a day or two of snowmaking. Hopefully they get the chance to groom that out, it would be in great shape for this weekend.

White Cap was also quite the experience today. Whalebacks from the last 5 days on White Heat were finally skiable. That might sound good in text, good lord it was faaaaaaar different than expected.

After taking a couple runs on the Little White Cap lift (#11), I proceeded to then make the awful decision to check out White Heat: now officially open to the public. Let's just say that on a ratio of 1 to 10, about 1 and 7 people were falling just trying to get over the whalebacks. I unfortunately I was not exempt from this category. My fall was just before the lift, I went over a whaleback, hit a slow spot, and did a faceplant into the oncoming whale. Hurt a lot. Was not fun. It also didn't help that there were people from the lift heckling the people falling too (Which, I did partake in lol).

Called it a day around 2:30, with a solid 23 runs in. Best day so far. Even though I fell.
