Food and Beverage Food and BeverageCamp III has a sign posted on the door stating that masks are required. That's because its located on National Forest land and the people currently in charge of Federal land have dictated that rule. However there are no mask police like last year so folks are making their own choice. I went in to warm up and had a hot chocolate and muffin.
Comments CommentsHeard that Loon was sold out today. I was running later than normal so I headed straight to South Peak. There was plenty of available parking near the lodge and lift. The Pemi lodge was open for food and beverage, bathrooms, and changing up. Masks required was posted but folks were making their own choice. Storage was available for small bags, large bags go in your vehicle. There was no lift line for the first hour. Skied Boom Run and then headed over to North Peak to catch the morning sunlight on Walking Boss. No lift lines at North Peak until about 10:30, then just a short line after that. Skied all of the trails and combinations there. Upper Walking Boss, Flume, and Sunset got partially skied off by noon. Tried to go down to the West Basin but the Kanc8 was down for service again. Made a few more runs at North Peak and saw that the Kanc8 opened back up. Went down Rampasture, it seemed skied off. Went over to the gondola and found huge lines there and at Seven Brothers. Went back over to South Peak to finish out the day. Boom Run and Cruiser were still in good condition. Cruiser had lots of sunshine by then so called it the ROTD. Twitcher and Jobber were skied off by then. Based on that I skipped Ripsaw.

Snow conditions were groomed hardpack. It doesn't look like they took advantage of the cold weather this week to make any new snow. Hopefully the storm tonight and tomorrow delivers the goods. The mountain could use it. Lots of the soft snow was blown off from the wind yesterday, and it left a lot of frozen chunks behind.

Weather was cold today. -5° to start out, rising to 25° in the afternoon. Clear blue sunny sky all day. Great visibility of mountains near and far. Little to no wind.
