Comments CommentsSpring came a little too early...soft, sticky loose granular and corn was a constant all day long. Temps rose into the low 50s in the afternoon, but the snowpack held relatively well, at least for a day. Some natural snow trails/glades were open, others were closed but had no rope across them and were skiable enough. Upper Liftline had big moguls and was skiable, although bare spots (especially up top) had begun forming as the day went on. Roy's Way was closed, but was skiable, you just had to take off your skis at the bottom and step over a foot wide runoff stream. Flying Cloud looked skiable but was roped, Minnie Dole was in worse shape. Competition was good all day long, a little grabby for sure, but good spring conditions. Exhibition probably had the best snow - the lower mountain did better than the upper mountain, thanks to an inversion. Big Chief and Mohawk both had soft, less sticky snow, but more rocks and sticks mixed in.

Lines were fairly long when I arrived around 10, but waned as the day went on. Opening the triple definitely helped. It also briefly drizzled, and while the parking lot never really emptied, many people retreated to the lodge. Busy but very manageable, lines were never a real problem.

I don't know how many more days of this weather they'll make it - legitimately worried it could be close to a fresh start when temps cool down again. Base was already not especially thick, and warm humid air eats up the snow.
