Comments CommentsTook advantage of the $25 ticket to get a few runs in before hiking nearby. Had I not been in the area, I would have not made the drive, in part because their web site said to check their social media sites for hours/rates, and their social media sites weren't updated (even by opening time).

Nonetheless, it was one run off the Ramrod Quad (Smith) and one run off the Penny Pitou (Peepsight). Some snow had been made on open terrain overnight, which groomed out as firm frozen granular. The upper and lower thirds of Smith, and most of Peepsight, where decent granular/packed powder.

Never had more than a few chair wait. At least while I was there, they had more employees than skiers (more of a testament to how much staff they have). Hard to get much vertical on such small lifts, but I managed 9 runs under bluebird skies; good to be out on snow.

They ran snowmaking around the clock today, but not on the open trails. Guns were running throughout the base area and on the tubing slope. They've made a little bit of snow on part of the Pistol complex and on Lower Tiger. No visible snowmaking on the upper part of the Tiger complex, or above.
