Lift Lines Lift Lines1 to 2 minutes
Snow Trail Conditions100% open; Packed Powder, Spring Snow
Glades GladesOpen with good coverage and depth. Minimal ice thanks to last night's snow. I skied True Grit glades and Sugar Shack, as well as a few other spots I ducked into.
Moguls MogulsSurprisingly not much. True Grit had some, the ungroomed (not much at WV) had them, and a few high-traffic spots got some.
Terrain Park Terrain Park(s)I stopped to watch the freestyle championships on Bobby's Run. Really impressive. There were a few parks set up elsewhere.
Run of the Day Run of the DayRuffled Feathers to Piano Man to Mean Jeans
Food and Beverage Food and Beverage$5 for Arizona iced tea is a scam. Nice of them to provide free water cups. Mac n Cheese was good.
Comments CommentsToday was one of the best days I've had in New England all season. Waterville got 2-4" of soft, somewhat windblown snow last night, which finally got rid of that annoying crust and made off-piste skiing actually enjoyable. It softened into a wet spring snow in the afternoon, not slushy but it was definitely a bit manky. It was pretty windy in the morning, so a lot of the new snow was blowing around into the trees.

I started at about 9:15 on Green Peak and took my first few runs there, figuring that the lower uphill capacity would keep the fresh snow around longer. My first run was ROTD. Governor's Run and Clean Shaven were both great as well, Pfosi's had some wind-scoured areas but also had pockets of deeper snow. I eventually moved over to the six pack as Green got tracked out, and was surprised to find plenty of untracked snow on the sides of trails even at 11. I skied pretty much everything, with the exception of Lower Ciao (the top part was super icy and wind-scoured, I moved over to Gema), Bobby's Run (freestyle championships), and Tommy's (omission). Preston's Path was really fun and a ROTD contender. True Grit was actually alright if you stuck to the sides. There was a 5-8 minute line for the bubble but it went away pretty quickly, no more than a few chair wait in the afternoon, and ski on from 3 to 4.

Probably the last day of winter-like skiing I'll have but there's a ton of depth up in the mountains and spring skiing should be pretty damn good.
