Comments | Spent much of the day here - skinned up with AMC ski group then took some runs late in the day. Morning was awesome - beautiful packed pow, excellent. Afternoon, as expected, was good practice in survival turns on the board on ice. Had the feeling of a different planet as the wind ripped what little packed powder remained off almost all the runs - no waiting at the Peabody Express Chair!!!! Staying upright without ice skates was truly character-building. Although I consider myself a very good rider, I have no pride and had to skooch my way down the glacial ice known as the "Bypass". I didn't want to break a leg this close to the start of the season. I went to the Tuckerbrook Family Area - nice powder in there but too long a wait at the chair PLUS a lot of yard sales. Last couple runs of the day were under the Eagle Cliff Triple - nice powder on skier's right. |
