Comments CommentsConditions were good, temperatures were mild, and there were no lift lines. However, I was disappointed by the snow reporting.

The Face and associated trails were all closed from the get go because of a telemarking race. No advanced notice when I bought my ticket online last night. The race did not start until around 10:30. After inquiring with a friendly ski patroller, we were allowed to take one run down it around 9:30. Fantastic conditions on this awesome trail. Really a shame that it was closed to the public, especially since there were only 35 people in the race and only a handful of spectators.

Skyline and Easy Mile had good coverage and skied nicely. There was a race course set on Bunny's Boulevard, but the public was able to ski down the side. Jug Handle was open with minimal natural coverage. Perley's Peril was also open with natural coverage, but the slope was on its last legs. Everything else from the lift northward was closed.

The Gully was open on one side on natural snow, but is probably toast at this point, as a few chokepoints were down to dirt with the morning sun. Awesome slope, would love to try with full coverage.

Nice corduroy off the little double on Milky Way, Bee Line, Chimney, and Lasky Lot. Despite being a beginner complex, a few of those trails have fun, narrow steeps.

The new (2016-17) quad is a nice addition and runs faster than many other fixed grip quads.

Fun morning and glad I could take one run down the Face, but I was really hoping those trails would have been open to the public, even if just before the race.
