Comments CommentsWaterville sometimes gets a bad rap, but today was one of those days that it really shined.

No crowds. Never a lift line or crowded trail. Often had trails to ourselves. Good conditions, even at closing. $45 full day tickets.
Non-intrusive RFID ticketing system (scanners mounted to the top terminals of the lifts). Friendly lift operators at every lift; White Peaks operators let people on a few minutes early because everything was ready to roll, and let folks on a minute or two after 4, as to not deny last runs; top operators on a few of the lifts were waving; etc.

Roughly three trails open on Green Peak. Governors Run was top to bottom, wall to wall (a few random rocks). Some loop-de-loops were open of another trail. Chandler's was open from the top down to South Street (lower Chandler's not open), then Bourbon Street (also Mean Jean's Ravine was open ungroomed). All skied nicely.

Almost everything on the main mountain was open, with the exception of upper Scramble, Gema, Lower Bobby's (looked like it had good half-width coverage, but 100% bumps), and Boneyard.

On Sunnyside, True Grit was groomed 2/3rds wide and Ciao 1/2.

High Country was left ungroomed, with perhaps 3-4" of powder from Friday. The High Country chairlift carried its last skiers ever this afternoon; replacement T-Bar parts are being staged.

Exhibition platters and World Cup Ts have been removed from their respective lines for the season.

Northside skied nicely, with every trail groomed except Preston's Path. Lower half of that had decent soft moguls.

Skied every open trail and managed 43K vertical, even with numerous fixed grip chair rides. Temperatures hovering around the freezing mark with partly sunny skies.
