Comments CommentsArrived at the mountain late, around 10, because the rain was forecasted to stop by then. To my surprise as I drove up to the mountain from route 4 the rain switched to snow. I arrived at the parking lot in a driving snowstorm. There was about 3" of heavy snow at the base. It continued to snow for a couple more hours.

The Killington Triathalon was held today, so there was a lot of activity going on at the K1 Lodge.

Only the Superstar lift is still running. Superstar trail still has a huge glacier that is not going away for a while yet. It was firm up top, but lower down it was very soft from all the recent rain and soft temps. With that and the new snow it got really bumped up. Other trails I skied were Nivis walk to Launchpad and Ovation, Skylark, and Bittersweet. Most trails still had good coverage. Some areas of Bittersweet were thin though. The new snow covered the thin spots up for now, but it probably won't last for too much longer.

It's forcasted to stay cold for a couple of days so the skiing should be good.
