Comments CommentsFirst time ever to Smuggs, and I really like it! Started by driving from the condo up to Madonna/Sterling (connector trails opening tomorrow!), and got on Sterling as it opens 30min before Madonna. Got a run on Rumrunner, which was skiing very nice, then it was Madonna time. The only route down the Madonna summit was Upper Chilcoot, which was in pretty good shape in the morning, around lunch though, the snow on Upper Chilcoot was getting pretty blown off by the heavy wind. Mulcahy's link and Lower Liftline were in pretty good shape most of the day though.

Moving over to Sterling, Rumrunner was in pretty good shape all day, a little scratchy underneath in the afternoon, but what do you expect? Pretty much the same deal with Treasure Run, though that may have been a little more firm. The only downside to Sterling was that the mountain was really shady, so it was quite scary sometimes, not being really able to see the details in the snow tht well.

Later in the afternoon, we headed back to the village to wind down at Morse. There was only really one run down (Garden Path and Lower Morse Lift Line) which skied pretty well.

Lines were not too long for most of the day. Madonna had no lift line at all for most of the day, with maybe a max wait time of 2-3 min. Village/Mogul Mouse also had no line while we were there (and I heard none all day). Sterling was the only one with a consistent wait (probably because it had the most trails open), but even then, I'd say the line averaged only just over 5 min (maybe like 7-8).

Be back at it again tomorrow. Will be nice to not have to drive to the upper mountains, and to be able to come back to the condo for lunch as the connector trails will be open!
