Comments CommentsI don't want to blow up the reports on Loon, but conditions today were so good that I feel they should be shared. Best ski day so far this season.

About 3" of powder fell overnight. There was no wind so all of the new snow stayed on the trails. Today was slightly busier than yesterday, but there were still no lift lines. We started out at the new Kanc8 lift. There was another 15 minute delay in starting to load passengers. But they got the lift running and the day was fantastic from that point on. Blue Ox had a few icy patches and spots where the groomer scraped off. All the other West Basin trails were powder and groomed packed powder. Rumrunner and Coolidge Street were really nice and were in contention for the ROTD. Lower Speakeasy was closed. It was open yesterday so not sure why.

Headed to North Peak next. Upper Flume was groomed packed powder and was in awesome condition. Lower Flume and Walking Boss were ungroomed powder which got bumped up as the day progressed. Picked Rock, Flying Fox, and Crosscut were nice groomed packed powder. Rolling Bear and Basin Street were ungroomed moguls covered with new powder. Haulback and Cant Dog were open and groomed, providing access to the East Basin trails. Sunset was groomed but the soft snow got slightly bumped up by the afternoon.

Took the gondola a couple of times. Wait time was 1-2 minutes. Angel Street was groomed packed powder. It was good so we did a repeat. Could also have been the ROTD.

South Peak was open but we didn't make it over there today.

Weather: 3" of new snow overnight. Temperature was 18° at opening, warmed up to 31° in the afternoon. Partly sunny. Some wind and snow flurries showed up after 2 PM.
