Comments CommentsFreezing rain part of the storm really jacked up the lifts. The trees were all iced over and parts of the chairs had a generous 1/4” of ice. They originally announced a delayed opening for the six pack at 9:30, and Spear at 10:30. Watched the mountain cam all morning, and saw any dedicated skiers coming from the Barnyard complex (fixed grip chair). Six pack finally opened around 12/1:00, Spear looked like it was unstuck by 2:45, but they never opened the complex. I imagine by the time they got it running they figured just as well to leave it for the weekend crowds.

Conditions on the main mountain were pretty good. Pines and Lower Crewcut were the only trails left naturally bumped up. Exhibition, Ridge, and Birches are the newest open trails I’ve gotten to ski so far. Newfound was in great shape. Village Green had some of the best untouched snow at 3:00. Ragged Glades were great, hit that twice. Sweepstake was open, saw people head down it from multiple entrance points, but I never hopped on. Tried to make the best of the time left in the day.
