Comments Comments“Will I remember how to ski?”

First day out!!! Great conditions, Loon had been hitting it very hard on the snowmaking. We had watched the guns blow hard on our way to hikes in the weeks prior. It wasn’t terribly busy, busier by 10am. First time riding the 8-pack, love the warm seats. Carpet is easy, just hope no one goes over the edge at the final loading area. Lower part of Walking Boss and Haulback on North Peak were open, helping to spread folks out. A few runs prior to leaving, a water main for snowmaking burst on Rampasture, and snowmaking crews plus ski patrol were trying to reel it in and close the trail. Half the trail looked to be a river (water erosion is no joke!) and the other half was still skiable. Prior to the burst, I thought it had the best conditions of the mountain.
