Comments CommentsGot started early today to try and ski with minimal crowds for the first hour or so. Heavier waiting times seemed to come after 10:30; started the T-bar about 11:00. First ride up someone was skiing Lower Fractured Fairytales. Scratchy, but seemed to be skiing well with decent technique. “Dust on crust” was mentioned casually quite a few times, and seems to fit the Bill. First handful of runs were nice packed granular. Frostbite Falls and the upper part of Dudley Do Right wore down the quickest in my opinion. Top third of Boris was similar, but skiers left side was nice and there was enough snow to aim for if you wanted bite vs slide. Fearless Leader was very nice for texture, edgy. Groom had some ridges but were fun when you knew they were there. Natural trails Natasha’s, Bullwinkle, Sherman’s Pass, Bullwinkle’s Other Horn were really nice, firm but controllable with good edging. Groomed natural trail Roundabout takes the cake today, love that windy cruise plus the snow was great.
We didn’t venture over to the Westside today. Rode the T-bar twice...second time was much shorter once the impatient folks had tried it and then either flopped around like fish or decided they’d rather the chair. Enjoyed the all season LL Bean special $35 per ticket. This place is so fun, we don’t mind driving past Sunday River for it!
