Comments CommentsEdit: Sorry didn't mean to say 100% open. Their trail report has me confused on trail counts there... Upper 30s-41F, bluebird day, no wind and great presidential views. They listed 45 trails open. Most Blue & Greens were open. Less than 1/2 of the expert and a couple double diamonds. They opened the summit after 11, and that was skiers left only. The trails under the triple were all closed as they had no base. The runs in the woods were well covered as was surprisingly the field under the J-bar. Skiers right was ungroomed. It had settled enough since the storm to be almost like corn snow and you could great turns on it. 6 of 6 lifts including the Shovel Handle J-bar. On my fourth trip the kid in front of me got caught and was hanging by his overalls at the unload. His struggling & the quick stop of the lift caused my bar to derail the lift right at my tower. The kid was rescued by, I kid you not, a very well dressed, but much larger than I’ve seen in books, leprechaun. They got it running again later in the day.
