Comments CommentsWas expecting boilerplate conditions and instead encountered loose granular, packed powder, and ROCKS.

Off Valley House, Spring Fling and the Heaven's Gate traverse were decent, but Snowball was narrow/thin.

Main mountain was a mess. Impossible to get down without encountering active snowmaking. Portions of Jester closed. Murphy's above the snowmaking had lots of boilerplate. Lower Organgrinder had large whales and some wet slush patches. Lower Downspout had some sticky areas and thin areas with rocks.

Jester was decent. Upper Organgrinder was good early on, except for the very limited (only a few feet) visibility. Boilerplate quickly emerged in a few places, as well as some death cookies. Snowmaking in progress on Ripcord (closed).

On Gatehouse, Sleeper had some thin/brown spots and the steeps were closed/icy moguls. Pushover skied well.

Went over to Mt. Ellen thereafter; GMX and Summit Quad running, but not North Ridge (reportedly out of commission). Rim Run was the only open trail off the top (initially some boilerplate and random rocks); FIS snowmaking in progress. Thereafter, Elbow (decent), Lookin Good (didn't try, but looked scratchy), and Lower Rim Run (decent).

From the top of GMX, Joe's Cruiser and Which Way (bottom had dirt/rocks), then filtering into Straight Shot (awful; only one or two cats wide with rocks and brown snow mixed in). Snowmaking in progress on Crackerjack, but not open.

Inverness was running at a glacial speed, but the Inverness trail was open to the public and had really nice loose granular conditions.

Comparative chilly day with the fog and snowmaking cloud hanging on throughout the morning. About an inch of new snow fell during the morning on South, but more like a dusting on North. Midweek crowds. Seems like they just barely made it through the thaw, but hopefully this snowmaking window will improve conditions.
