Comments Comments What a drive in the snow to get there but well worth it when we hit the slopes at 10 am still plenty of fresh snow to be found. The snow was terrific all day, it stayed well below freezing and there was at least 5 inches of new snow at upper elevations. I have never skied such fine conditions on Castle Rock as I did this day. We did not go to Mt.Ellen but we were told by others it was very good--the Slide Brook Quad/sideways lift was not operating. We made an effort to ski every trail but we didn't manage it but close ha ha. Visibility on top of Lincoln Peak and Castlerock was not good. Ski on to the lifts, we had trails all to ourselves. This was by far the best day I have every experienced at Sugarbush. The snow wasn't champagne powder but it was really good and didn't clump up, it was sweet skiable all day. It started to rain lightly around 5 pm.
