Session SessionFull Day
Lift Ticket Ticket TypeIndy Pass
Lift Lines Lift Lines0 minutes
Snow Trail Conditions75% open; Loose Granular, Variable Conditions
Glades GladesLooked like you could jump in the trees if you dared but it was firm and thin and didn't see anyone in any trees all day. When it warms up higher elevation glades look like they could be fun later.
Moguls MogulsUngroomed trails had bumps and between them was ice or thin cover but generally could find a way down without fearing for your ski's bottoms.
Terrain Park Terrain Park(s)Kind of fun to watch from the Tavern. Only one guy did a nice helicopter but the rest were kids not quite making the landing zones.
Run of the Day Run of the DayMedium was a dandy groomer and Mystery ungroomed was rather fun because its snow was decent
Food and Beverage Food and BeverageA beer in the Tavern après, we brown bagged our own lunch and we did have a really good hot chocolate with Cabot Whipped Cream at coffee break time that was excellent. Really cute lodge and not crowded today at all.
Comments CommentsA wonderful day at Magic, sunny and cold in the morning and not as cold mid-day. The Indy reservation process on their website takes too long and they ask too many questions when Indy has all that information about me? Plus the confirmation verifications from Indy and you? Geez you guys use the Indy Pass owner's RFID system too. Paid $5.30 (thirty cents Vermont Tax) for the RFID card online. When we got to the ticket window it was like Magic, I showed my Indy pass card and quickly was handed my RFID card and was told I can load my second visit right on to it. I noted that Magic has an uphill trail in the woods, left of Magic Carpet (name of trail not a lift). Kris and I think we skied every trail open, well any of the ones that were in reason for us. The groomers were excellent loose granular and never got skied off all day--Magic Carpet, Medium, Carumba and Trick. We did venture past the Expert Only you're going to die sign and headed down the perfectly groomed Upper Wizard and then at the turn where it get steep it was crazy firm Moguls, ha ha they warned us, we only did it once. They were blowing snow on Tailsman. The mountain was quieter than we thought it would be. In the morning we feft like we owned the place, the closest parking lot filled up sometime around 1 we noticed. No lines. The big news is that the new Quad was running without passengers, completing its last tests and they plan to open it on Saturday, advertising cutting the ride time to the summit to 11 minutes. I clocked the red chair to be just over 14 minutes today. We really enjoyed ourselves, views were awesome, Stratton & B looked ribbons of bright white and lots of mountains to gaze upon. We'd love to go back, fingers crossed for more snow and a happy skier month of March ahead.
