Food and Beverage | Brown bagged it for lunch, and by 4:30 they literally ran out of food so no dinner except beer in the Black Line Tavern. |

Comments | POWDER DAY OF POOWDER DAYS! I kind of underestimated this storm and apparently it didn't stop until the wee hours of the morning so not only did I get stuck in back of plow trucks going 20 mph getting up there, Magic was still clearing snow by late morning. Parking lot was a shit show at 10:30. I parked waaaay down the road in the auxiliary lot and hooffed back to the base lodge. Line for the Quad at 11 was insane, and thankfully they were just starting to fire up the Red Chair which they got going by Noon. I waited on the deck and ate my lunch early and by then the line had died down for the Quad. I only had had one or 2, 5 minute waits on the Quad and by 1pm both lifts were pretty much ski on. If you got there first thing in the am, I guess you got first tracks, but all day long there was powder to be found on and off all trails, even knee deep in a few places. There were natural hazards that reared their ugly heads in spots on trails like Twilight Zone, Black Line, Witch, etc because of the lack of a good base in places before this storm, but you could not complain. Beautiful sunny blue skies all day and perfect temps, not too cold, not too warm so the snow never turned to mashed potatoes at all. I hope this storm gets them into April, not sure with the R*** forecasted for mid week. Magic was truly Magical!! |
