Comments CommentsVery appreciative that Whaleback a) kept night skiing going another week and b) keeps the day trails open as long as it's light (7 PM).

Was worried the natural would be disappearing quickly based upon the woods on the drive over, but alas Whaleback has retained it's snowpack despite a few warmer days. Although the snow report stated YOOYM is closed, it is open. Everything is open.

The intermediate and expert natural trails are showing some wear, but are still very skiable. A few choke points each, but otherwise good coverage. Upper Ivory Run has growing bare spots. Flipper and Whitetail are in good shape.

Snowmaking trails were a bit firm, as the snow had been groomed wet, but temperatures didn't quite soften it back up. Still fine though. Upper Face is all moguls, but some are a bit firm as compared to the natural snow moguls.

Managed to ski every trail (did not venture into the glades). Whaleback skis so much bigger when it's all open like this. Good variety, mid-sized mountain length runs.
