Comments CommentsAs advertised 5 trails, 23 acres, 1.4 miles of terrain, and the most vertical east of the Mississippi was open. Upper Lynx, Middle, and Lower Lynx were groomed overnight. The snow guns were blasting on Middle and Lower Lynx. Snow making is typical for early season operations. However the snow making output today was of an extremely wet and slushy consistency. Probably too high of a water to compressed air ratio for the temperature. Upper Lynx skied nicely, but once one reached the snow making areas on the lower half of the mountain conditions became very difficult. The snow making was very wet and formed a frozen glaze of ice on everyone passing through. Goggles became quickly coated with ice, and many skiers were falling in the slushy, bumped up areas. Did a few runs and called it.
