Comments CommentsA bit of a bait and switch with the conditions reporting, as Widow White's Quad was listed as open yesterday and this morning, but was changed to closed before opening. On the plus side, they allowed people to start loading the six pack 5 minutes early.

With White's Peak closed, it was pretty much all of the night skiing trails plus the expert trails on the east side. Cutter, Wild Turkey, and Bear Crossing all skied well (groomed). Jericho was groomed as well, but a little bit hard to carve (not quite level, not wall to wall). Whitetail was good with a thin spot or two if I recollect correctly. Upper Whirlaway was fun at first, but scraped by mid morning. Upper Exhibition/Lower Catacombs/Lower Lower Exhibition/Upper Liftline were closed.

The novice trails on the east side skied fine, though Round-A-Bout was a little thin in places.

The intermediate trails between the triple and double were okay, though randomly scratchy in places. I made the mistake of taking Azalea Path, which had been tilled to dirt near the end...seeing something similar on Merry-Go-Round, I avoided the latter.

John Hancock and Ace of Spades skied nicely, perhaps in part because of minimal use due to the slow lift ride (Grand Slam double was pretty much running empty).

Good coverage on Jiminy Cricket.

RFID was nice, as opposed to waiting for manual scanning in the cold weather this morning. Six pack queue was a little weird, as the line funneled through a single file area, with the alternative being skiing over exposed metal or plastic with the 6 person coral. The fast lift with no midweek lines allowed me to get 15 runs in just over 2 hours. Chilly temperatures, but blue skies and minimal wind.
