Comments CommentsIt was a cold and windy day today. The snow conditions were good considering that it had rained yesterday. The Gondola, and the Lincoln Express Quad on South Peak were on wind hold today. The Kancamagus Quad, Seven Brothers Triple, North Peak Quad, and East Basin Double lifts were running.

In the West Basin Lower Picked Rock, Blue Ox, Rampasture, and Lower Northstar trails were in good shape. Rumrunner was good. Coolidge Street was closed for race training. Did not go down Lower Speakeasy, as past experience indicates this trail needs more time to recover from a rain event. Many attendants were in place at the Kancamagus Express Quad to keep traffic moving smoothly and all the chairs filled. They were probably relocated from the closed lifts.

On the North Peak Upper and Lower Walking Boss trails were groomed well and skied nicely. Sunset trail was well groomed, but had a very strong wind blowing straight up the trail all day. Upper Picked Rock, Flying Fox, and Crosscut trails skied well. Upper Speakeasy was ok, but a bit icy in spots. While riding the lift I observed that the strong wind was blowing all of the fine powder kicked up by the skiers on Upper and Lower Flume into the woods. So I didn't ski either of these trails today.
