Comments CommentsAll 61 trails were open today, and all lifts were running. Today was close to as good as it gets! Last weeks snow was all groomed in and conditions across the mountain were smooth, grippy packed powder. Weather was partly cloudy and the temperature reached the low 30's.

Started out early at the West Basin. Skied Lower Picked Rock, Blue Ox, Rampasture, Lower and Upper Northstar, Coolidge Street, and Lower Speakeasy. All trails had packed powder conditions, and skied well. Rumrunner was closed for race training. Coolidge Street also closed later in the day for race training. There were no lift lines at that time.

Went over to North Peak next. Nice packed powder conditions there as well. Upper Flume skied real nicely, Lower Flume had a couple of small icy spots, but was not bad at all. Upper and Lower Walking Boss were great. Sunset, Upper Picked Rock, Flying Fox, Crosscut, and Haulback all skied well with packed powder. Felt some wind a couple of times riding the lift, but then it went away. Took Upper Speakeasy to return to the West Basin for lunch, it skied really nice. Lift lines averaged a few minutes.

Had a quick early lunch and went over to South Peak. Boom Run and Cruiser skied nicely with soft packed powder. Twitcher and Jobber had a few small ice spots on the headwall, but otherwise were nice soft packed powder. Ripsaw was in great shape also with just a few small icy spots on the headwall.

At the West Basin the BMW xDrive experience is going on this weekend. Volkl also partnered with BMW and set up a tent with a bunch of their next seasons skies to demo, but you had to sign up with BMW to participate in the ski demo. Did not partake in the demo, but was able to check out the skis, and ask questions of the Volkl rep.
