Comments CommentsAmazing day at Dartmouth. Snow started to fall around 8:30, heavy at first, then fairly consistent throughout the morning, leaving 1 to 3 inches of powder. Wind created drifts, but the snow was dense enough to generally stick down, while being light enough for nice skiing. Snow let up shortly after lunch time, but no mixed precip as of mid afternoon.

Everything is open, though some of the natural trails have areas of thin cover/ice flow.

On Winslow, everything skied well, though MD and Upper Thomas (both natural) needed caution in a few areas. I particularly liked Hermans Highway and Lower Howard Chivers.

On Holts, Lower Liftline and Lower Gauntlet (both natural) had some thin spots, but were actually quite enjoyable. Wordens was open with no racing, so it was a lot of fun, even with the windy conditions. Perhaps the biggest gem of the day was the old T-Bar complex adjacent to Wordens, Green Pastures and T-Line. The trails had been barely touched, so we were hitting fresh powder even mid-afternoon.

Amazing conditions and no crowds whatsoever. This is one of the best mid-size ski area values around.
