Comments CommentsTook a chance on the weather and lucked out. $30 for online tickets was very reasonable.

Weatherwise, temperatures were near freezing without much wind. It was snowing from mid-station up throughout the morning. The lower mountain initially had a few drops of rain, but transitioned to snow by mid morning.

RFID process has been changed again. Last year's passes still work and the lifts are still gateless, however you have to make your RFID visible. A little bit of a head scratcher, but that's what I was told. The online reloading is still confusing, as I had to buy the day's ticket from one part of the site, then had to log into another part of the site and enter an e-mail verification code to load the RFID. Nice feature nevertheless.

The quad and the carpets were running. No lines. From the top of the quad, there were initially two ways down (Upper Bobby's and White Caps; White Caps was really good first thing), then three (Upper Sel's, a little scratchy; Old Tecumseh, good; Terry's Trail to and Tyler to Siegel, good); then two (World Cup, good fan gun snow; Old Tecumseh to Lower Periphery).

They had the guns running all morning up in the High Country from what I could hear. Guns had also run on Tyler, Tippecanoe, and Lower Tippy, but shut down mid morning due to temps. Snow has also been made atop the Utter Abandon headwall. All of those trails will need some more hours to get open, but are nevertheless on their way to opening soon. Also noted fan guns set up on Valley Run, but not yet running.

Decent skiing and reasonable weather. Good to see continued improvements at an area that had been stagnant for many years.
