Comments CommentsFinally decided to burn my free early season day pass I got for skiing closing, and it snowed ALL DAY!!! There seriously wasn't a bad trail open. For what was, it was a good balance between groomed and ungroomed. There was a ski clinic going on, lots of instructors and athletes but they were all generally easy to avoid. Gondola got a late start spinning, the reason didn't seem clear. Zephyr and beginner chair were also spinning.

Probably about 4-5" of new powder on the ungroomed trails made for a good leg work out, and tons of fun! Fabyan, Coos Caper, Granny's Grit, Perimeter, InBetween, and No Regrets were ungroomed and absolutely awesome. Upper Swoop, Upper Express and Out of Bounds were the ways down from the gondola. Upper Swoop got scratchy before lunch time, Out of Bounds held nicely, and Upper Express looked inviting. Beginner trails were still in great shape around 2:00. Upper Express and Dave's Drop were the only difficult terrain open, and both ungroomed so still fair trails.

The constant precip was never blinding, or wet. A little windy closer to the top but not enough to send you inside. Worked out for a great day!
