Comments CommentsAwesome early season day at Magic. Red Chair and Green Chair were running (Black Quad is still missing a top terminal, drive, cable, and chairs), with no lines.

About 6" of powder at the base and closer to 2 feet up top. Rock ski conditions on natural terrain due to a lack of base, but nice snow.

One groomed snowmaking trail from the top - Upper Magic Carpet to Medium to Wand to Show Off. No snowmaking elsewhere yet. Guns ran until lunchtime today.

I took one run on the west side (Talisman) which was good (powder bumps), though I had to watch out for the occasional rock and waterbar. Some of the big steeps were closed (e.g. Magician).

My favorite run down the East Side was Enchanted Forest and down to Up Your Sleeve; both had good coverage and nice powder bumps. Caution was needed on Wand beyond the snowmaking area, as the rocks from the access road were working their way up. Vertigo was decent, though there were some rocks a bit below the tree island. Lower Mystery was decent, but caution needed to be heeded near the waterbar. Kinderspiel was good.

Unfortunately the natural trails will probably be toast after the incoming rain storm hits. Very cold start this morning (close to 0; temperature inversion though), but the sun warmed things up. Trails were never crowded. Staff was very friendly.
