Comments CommentsDec. 15, 2019 - Sun. 28 of 87 trails, 7 of 20 lifts, 25-17F flurries all day no accumulation, strong wind gusts, machine groomed, secondary wind blown snow, 1” new in 7 days. So says the report.
Not sure why I went out, a lot of people didn't. I would call it machined groomed on top of hard pack with some small wind blown powder pockets around. You really couldn't go into the ungroomed. The day started warmer near 30 and quickly went down and things firmed up before noon. The wind was gusting at times to 50mph. All summit chairs were on hold. Ha ha like they were ever opening, it was really windy. Snow devils galore. No North Face, Sunbrook, Bluebird, Grand Summit, Canyon. Basically Ego, Nitro, Tumbleweed, Discovery & heavy metal at noon. By 1 o'clock the "crowds" were gone and it was ski on. Late in the day I began uphill skating off Ego to Sundance pitch. One run off there I was alone top to bottom.
