Food and Beverage Food and BeverageGot an egg and cheese sandwich in the cafeteria. The cashier rang it up as a sausage egg and cheese at the higher price. As I pointed it out to her she had already processed my payment (COW card). She said she could not refund the overcharge, and asked if there was anything else I wished to purchase. There wasn't...
Comments Comments7 of the 8 lifts were running today. 18 of 27 trails were open. Temp was 9° at opening, and warmed up to 30° by noon. The day started out clear, but got lightly cloudy by noon.

Crowds were thin at the lifts and on the slopes. Skied onto the lifts all morning, Yay!

On arrival I picked up a 3-peat card that I purchased in a pre-season promotion. However, it didn't work at the RFID gate. I had to return to customer service to sort it out. Apparently it was flagged as void, even though it was just printed. Customer service cleared the void, and it worked fine the remainder of the day.

Started out at the Minuteman lift and skied Ralph's Run, Challenger, Hitchcock, and Frannie's Folly. They all skied nicely with recent snowmaking groomed out on top of the frozen base. The lower section of Challenger was closed for race training.

From the Polar Express lift Smith Walton was a bit scratchy in the middle, but had nice powder on the sides. Lower Smith was closed for race training all morning. Upper 10th had a delayed opening. Snow guns had run all night, and the new snow had to be groomed out. When it opened it was in great shape, with nice carvable snow. Conifer Connection was in good shape, it had many small whales that had not been groomed out yet. Upper Balance Rock was open and in good condition. Lower Balance Rock was closed, and snow-making was in progress. Norm's Way was also closed, with snow-making was in progress.

Santa made his rounds on the slopes today!
