Comments | Great morning at Catamount, skied a few of the new trails. Snow conditions were awesome with few spots that could be iffy if you're traveling too quickly or not paying attention. Hardly any ice anywhere, a few dips here and there closer to the sides of trails, all fun with care. Overcast day cast flat light on the trails, so they snuck up on you. Not an incredibly busy day considering vacation and the day following the holiday. Fair amount of kids, some ski school activity and racers changing their practice location here and there. The Birdman was out and about though, interesting guy, great skier. The new lodge is open for folks to sit in, but they weren't serving food. Remodeled lodge has the goods, and offered routine prices for lunch. The new owners (Berkshire East) have out a tremendous amount of work into this area since purchasing over a year ago. The new trails being cut look like they will be a blast once they are open, with fair challenges and nice character. |
