Moguls | Plummet some. BearTrap had 4†of powder on top of huge frozen ones. Several excellent skiers were cruising through there. Not me. I’m a plodder on those. |

Comments | Several lifts shutdown all day due to ice. No Bluebird, Canyon, Grand Summit all day. Nitro opened after 2. Dec 31st 2019. 4†new. Machined groom & powder. Mount Snow was terrible. Poorest communication ever!! Do they not know it’s a holiday week???? Just state the truth when you are continuing to selling tickets. A 6AM snow report then a 9:30AM update that basically said nothing different? Dedicated lift mechanics? I saw nothing spinning until 7:57. Were they waiting for it to warm up? Then let’s man the only 5 fixed chairs we have open with a minimal crew until after 10. The poor two guys at Challenger had to stop loading so he could shovel the backwards ramped that developed. Meanwhile the singles line blocked River Run. Why not try to open Outpost? No ambassadors to be seen anywhere on the hill, until I saw one lone guy at 1pm trying to help corral Heavy Metal queue which reached the Nitro. I heard 1 hr at Tumbleweed, 1-1/2 hrs at Ego. I can tell you it was 35 mins at Northface. Then I went to BearTrap. No wait. Took 18 runs off the 2 runs there, not much vert. Of course there is zero communication for anyone else to know there was no line. One family I talked to hiked up Carinthia, they had to keep lying to their kids how much fun it was. Other people attempted to hike up as well all over. Elsewhere I heard comments like; next year Florida, etc.., I hope Vail fires Everyone.. The line for Tumble extended up hill to 2 lift towers. Ego was back to the Grand summit |
