Comments | Fantastic conditions today. Decent attendance, but trails were not crowded. A few minute wait for the main double, but the T-Bar was also running (went for this when the double had a full queue). I would say they were 100% open, with the exception of some of those partially constructed trails from a few years ago (cleared but never stumped). I believe everything on the current trail map was open. Some of the natural terrain could be lost if we get a warm up, but for now it was holding on well. Main trails, such as Roundabout, Boris, Dudley, Bullwinkle, and Easy Rider, were groomed and in good shape. Fearless Leader was groomed to half width and fun. Fractured Fairy Tales had nice bumps on it (the most recent snowfall had bonded nicely to any hardpack). Rocky's Run was a lot of fun with only a few thin spots; this trail is up there with Sunday River's double diamonds. Wassomatta U (never excavated) had enough snow to be skiable and was decent, apart from having to look out for some random stuff underneath. Maybelle's Trail had fresh corduroy even toward the end of the morning. Very underrated mountain. The runs are as long as Sunday River's, yet not as crowded. The trailed acreage on the one peak is probably equivalent to 3 Sunday River peaks. |
