Comments CommentsAfter skiing the last day at Loon on Sunday I thought that the ski season was over. But Monday I learned that several NH areas were still open on a day to day basis. I wanted to get another day in while I still could.

The weather was very pleasant. Full sunshine most of the day, with temperatures reaching in the low 40° range. Gorgeous, clear view of Mt Washington!

Only the Bethlehem and Rosebrook Express lifts were running today.

Only the snowmaking trails were open. Snow conditions were outstanding. Trails were groomed nicely. As the temperature warmed up the top layer of loose snow softened into a nice buttery coating on top of the firm base. Just perfect Spring skiing. Smooth but not slushy or corn snow. Made many fun laps off the Rosebrook quad.

The base lodge was mostly closed off. Just the lower level was open for bathroom use, and the store down there was also open. Noticed a few ski bags down there, but almost everyone geared up at their vehicle. Ticket sales were processed at the outside window. No food service was available. Latitude 44 was closed, including the restrooms. Signs were posted instructing folks to ride the lift only with members of their own group.

It wasn't crowded by normal standards, but these aren't normal times. Since the chairs were going up only partially filled the line backed up a couple of minutes at times. No one was directing traffic, but folks worked it out amongst themselves fairly well. I did notice quite a few school age children at the lifts with their parents. Don't think that was the intended purpose of closing the schools... Spoke with a gentleman that skied the morning at Cannon. He said it was busy there due to the $29 ticket price for NH residents today, folks were lined up at the ticket window.

I checked the resort website in the early afternoon. Notice was posted that the resort was closing for the season today. Skied until the Lift Closed sign went up at Rosebrook at 4:00 PM. Looks like that's it until next Fall. All New Hampshire ski areas are now closed.
