Comments CommentsMixed feelings on today at Attitash. The first few runs I had were great, the cord was nice and soft, and Tightrope was skiing great for the first 1.5 hours or so! Then around 9:30, it started to get VERY crowded and made worse by the fact that the Flying Yankee Quad was not open. The line for the triple was long, but it didn't look too crazy, but because it is just a slow triple, the line moves extremely slowly. I timed it on my watch once, and it took a little over 15min, but not quite 20, but I'm assuming it only got worse as that was at around 10.

Around 11 Tightrope was skied off, so I decided to go check out NW Passage which was a MESS. Since it was the only blue down from the top, most people who took the triple skied it, and it was really crowded. It was mostly icy, which some soft bumps in between, and there was an edge to edge traffic. At that point, I decided that due to how crowded NW Passage was, the fact that Tightrope was skied off above my skiing ability, and the fact that the lift line was very long, I decided to call it a day. I just did not feel it was worth it to wait in line for what was probably more like 25-30min at that point, then a 15 min ride up the lift just for a 5 min, at points dangerously crowded icy trail, I decided to leave around 11:30

I also have to say I was disappointed with the mask compliance rate today. The overwhelming majority of people were still wearing masks, but this has to be the smallest amount of mask-usage I saw, and the employees didn't really seem to care to enforce it, as they did at Vail Resorts.

Overall, I'm glad I got a few runs in this morning, but I do believe they really have to open a trail off Flying Yankee and connect the peaks, which would spread out the crowds more. It seems like they are aiming for the peaks to be connected on Wednesday, and from what I saw, it looks like they should have some runs off Flying Yankee open around that time as well. I also heard Bear Peak wasn't busy at all, but I didn't really feel like skiing an icy Illusion.
