Comments CommentsSkied North Peak, South Peak, and the West Basin today. Overall snow conditions were mostly firm and fast today.

Skied North Peak to start. Upper Walking Boss was a bit scratchy, Lower Walking Boss was ok. Sunset and Upper Picked Rock were good. Flying Fox was good except the steep curvy area near Crosscut got skied off fast. Haulback was fine. Upper and Lower Flume were open but the snow was very firm so it was a one and done type of deal. Snowmaking was active on Upper Speakeasy, Dropline, and in the trail split area near the Tote Road Quad.

Skied South Peak after noon. Boom Run and Cruiser were in good shape. Gave Cruiser the ROTD because it received a lot of sunshine which provided great visibility, and softened the snow just a bit. Upper Twitcher and Jobber were scratchy, Lower Twitcher was noticeable better. Ripsaw was open but I saw two yard sales on it from the lift, one involving a long backward slide downhill, so I decided to pass on it until the snow softens up.

Next up was the West Basin. Skied Blue Ox, Lower Picked Rock, Rampasture, and Lower Northstar. The snow was noticeably softer, and these trails skied nicely. Rumrunner and Coolidge Street were open but I did not get to ski them today. Snowmaking was active on Lower Speakeasy, and in the trail confluence area near the base.

The lift lines were surprisingly short today. Only waited a couple minutes once or twice at the Kanc or North Peak. South Peak was ski on every time.

Weather: Temperature were in the 20's all day. Sunny all day. Slightly higher temperatures today would have made for awesome conditions. Hoping for some new snow tonight and tomorrow.
