Comments CommentsHad skied Okemo monday and it was very hard pack/icy especially the summit trails. Lower Limelight was the best monday. Tuesday was a vast improvement. World Cup was great early on. Solitude area trails were great until noonish when areas were getting skied off and hard ice dominated in many areas. Lower Limelight over a Jackson Gore was again the run of the day. We made a good 1/2 dozen runs there. The new JG Quantum 6 is a nice lift. The old JG 4 pack bubble is now located on main face to north of Sunburst bubble and is called the Evergreen and replace the old slow triple chair. Evergreen was also running tuesday. Hopefully Okemo will be able to expand open terrain next week with cold temps as there is limited terrain available right now. I believe Okemo says they have 30+ trails but a lot of them are bunny slopes at JG and short connecting trails. Never seen so much brown up there at this time of the year. Should note that vaccination card is required to enter Clock Tower cafeteria area, and I suspect other Okemo buildings although I didn't enter any others. They have someone checking either the card or phone photocopy. You can only enter the Clock Tower lodge by the ski shop doors. They have it roped off inside so you must pass by a vac card checker to enter the cafeteria. You are suppose to wear a mask in the cafeteria area if you are gearing up in that area. If you are not vaccinated or don't have a card you enter the door closest to the ski shop and you can head downstairs to use the rest rooms or gear up in the change area down there and you must wear a mask. I would say that 50% of folks were wearing masks in the areas where they were suppose to. I didn't see anyone patrolling and telling folks to mask up like they did last year in the lift lines. No masks were required outside, in the lift lines or on the lifts.
