Comments CommentsStarted out at South Peak. Convenient parking close to the lift and lodge. On cold days the parking lot doesn't get muddy either, which is nice. Took a few runs then headed to North Peak before it got busy. Loon reported 19" from the storm on Friday. The snow conditions were great! Walking Boss, Flume, Sunset all had soft packed powder and loose powder. Picked Rock, Flying Fox, Crosscut were all smooth skiing back to North Peak. Made laps on Sunset to Haulback to Lower Flume or Walking Boss, all good. Also took Haulback to Cant Dog to Angel Street, Basin Street, Triple Trouble (ungroomed), and Big Dipper (ungroomed). There was a 5-10 minute wait at North Peak from 9:30 - 11:30 or so, but otherwise it was quick. For the first time in several weeks someone was calling front row, and pairing people into groups of 4 today. The East Basin double ran yesterday for the first time since opening weekend, but it was closed today.

Went down to the West Basin to ski those trails. Everything was open. Rumrunner opened up after racing and was nice. Lower Speakeasy was open with ungroomed natural snow. It was nice and hardly anyone was going on it. The new Kanc8 lift continues to have issues causing it to stop periodically. Also sometimes folks don't sit down fast enough; the chair pushes them forward and they fall down into the pit area. Lifties were really trying to pair up folks in groups of 8 but it's hard to do. There was only a couple minute wait when we were there.

Finished out the day skiing the rest of the trails at South Peak.

Weather: -5° to start the day, warmed up to 18° when we left at 3. Partly sunny to start out, then more cloudy later on. No wind so after the first couple of hours it felt nice.
