Snow Trail Conditions90% open; Packed Powder, Powder
Glades GladesIt's relatively thin cover, but most glades and woods are open and skiable. I didn't spend much time in the trees today, but the fresh powder I did get was awesome and my skis aren't any worse for wear from it. Another 6+ inches of insurance snow would be nice, though.
Moguls MogulsMost ungroomed and/or natural snow trails had moguls. Gotta watch out for rocks in between the moguls.
Terrain Park Terrain Park(s)I didn't venture into any, but from what I heard they were all open and running. I don't think the Bear Mtn superpipe is a thing anymore. It was partially melted and didn't appear to have had snow made on it all winter.
Run of the Day Run of the DayNeedle's Eye
Food and Beverage Food and BeverageI had an extremely overpriced bowl of soup and a soda at the Peak Lodge for lunch. Refused to pay 23 bucks for a cheeseburger, but $11 for soup isn't much better.
Comments CommentsIt was a beautiful day at Killington. Reasonable temperature, sun, minimal wind, and 9+ inches of fresh snow created pretty much the definition of perfect skiing weather. The only thing that would've made it better was a base under the fresh snow, but hey, we'll take what we can get after the washout last week.

Being the end of President's Week, to say it was crowded was an understatement. Per a local, it was top 3 for worst lines this season. It still wasn't too bad though - we stuck to lapping lesser used lifts during peak times (Canyon, South/North Ridge, Bear) and only used the major lifts early/late day and when necessary. Throughout the day, some of which I spent as a single rider, I rode every lift except for Snowshed/Ramshead and Northbrook. The longest I waited was probably 15 minutes for K1, most of the other main lifts were around 10 minutes, less in the singles line. Canyon and North/South Ridge were never more than a few chair wait.

Conditions were solid. It was mostly powder and packed powder, but you still had to be vigilant for ice. Iciest places on the mountain were parts of Cascade, Skyelark, Superstar Glacier, and Pipe Dream. Most of the ungroomed trails had soft powder moguls, and were super fun to ski. Most ropes were dropped, though you had to be careful for rocks on natural snow trails. Didn't go into any official glades today, but I ducked into the woods off Great Eastern, Bear Trax, and Launchpad. Same deal as the natural snow trails - skiable, but you had to be cautious.

I'm looking forward to another day at Killington and hoping that the crowds thin out a bit as the wind picks up overnight.
