Comments | What a different a few miles north can make. Whereas Woodstock only had 2-3" of new snow, Northeast Slopes picked up a legit 6+ inches of powder. Everything was opened and ungroomed. Some pockets of powder were dense (from sun and wind), while others were light. A few thin spots (Sunnyside, Sugar House), but generally good conditions. Still found untracked powder toward the end of the afternoon. T-Bar and beginner rope tow were running. T-Bar line was occasionally a couple of minutes (usually after a stop), but otherwise was only a few Ts. Not much base underneath (some places were probably bare prior to the storm, others ice). May have a chance at Wednesday operations, but I suspect next weekend is out unless the forecast improves. Partly sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 20s made things quite pleasant. Lots of variety here and a nice old-school vibe. Enough variety to spend a couple of hours without getting bored. |
