Comments CommentsTook a chance on the forecast being wrong and was rewarded - instead of being mostly cloudy, it was mostly sunny all morning.

With the White Peaks Quad coming down, the main mountain is closed. $46 ticket for Green Peak, Meadows, and Valley Run lifts.

The only trails not open on Green Peak were Wayne Wong Way (technically the bottom was open) and Mean Jean's Ravine. Pfosi's Pfolly was open on natural snow, but will probably be toast in the next day or so. The other Green Peak trails generally had wall to wall coverage with occasional thin spots. Clean Shaven had a race course set for a couple of hours, but was awesome just before lunchtime.

Valley Run had some ice bulges about a third of the way down, but was otherwise okay. Upper Valley Run and South Street were good. Stillness also generally had good coverage, but the surface was variable in places from heavy machine traffic (mainly going to the upper mountain). Baseway is getting very thin, so it will be interesting to see how the trails it serves will be accessible if it burns out.

Meadows complex was getting thin at the bottom, but there is a lot of snow tied up in the jumps on Stemtation that could probably be harvested.

From what I could see, Sunnyside is just about toast. Can't imagine Ciao or True Grit being open this weekend. Perhaps Gema could be pieced together. Oblivion is looking rough in places. The tentative plan for the weekend is to run the Sunnyside to provide access to High Country and Northside. I suspect High Country and parts of Northside will have plenty of snow, but it should be interesting to see how it ties together.
