Comments | Today was a beautiful bluebird day for the dummy downhill and the last day of regular operations for the season at Titcomb. The mountain will be closed this week, but they plan to reopen next weekend, if the weather cooperates. Conditions were loose granular on groomed trails and frozen granular on ungroomed trails. The skiing on groomed terrain was excellent, with no ice patches to be found. Ungroomed terrain was firm and chattery, and they had Dare Devil's Plunge, Old Jumper, Final Fall, and Dire Straights closed due to the firm conditions. All other trails and glades were open.
Lift 1 closed around noon, due to the dummy downhill taking place in that area. That was a fun event to watch, and they also had a delicious homemade buffet at lunch. There were no lift lines in the morning, but lines were usually a few minutes long in the afternoon, due to only Lift 2 being open. Snow coverage is still excellent with no bare patches, except where there are wet areas, and they should have no problem making it to next weekend, if the weather is nice enough to open. |
