Lift Lines Lift Lines0 minutes
Snow Trail Conditions100% open; Loose Granular, Spring Snow
Glades GladesOpen but very tricky conditions with thin, crusty cover. I regretted trying Blizzard glade. The others looked a bit better but I decided not to test my luck.
Moguls MogulsHurricane had huge moguls, Vortex had some, and a few other trails had small spring moguls.
Terrain Park Terrain Park(s)Pretty good parks here. Everything seemed open except for a small park at the bottom of the race trail, and they had some unique features I haven't seen much at other mountains.
Run of the Day Run of the DayFIS Race Trail
Food and Beverage Food and BeverageThe m&m cookies were seriously good! Glad I got one, absolutely delicious. Grabbed some mozz sticks on my way out too and those were among the best I've had at a ski area.
Comments CommentsI finally got to try out Pats Peak today and I was really impressed with what I saw. They do a lot with a little and the place seems really well-run in general.

The forecast called for snow showers in the afternoon. I showed up around 1 pm and on my third run it started dumping big heavy flakes, eventually changing over to some lighter sleet. They got about an inch on the upper mountain, just enough to make for some good conditions, definitely much better than the very-loose granular that was on my first two runs. Crowds thinned out very fast when it began sleeting a little bit, and it wasn't that busy to begin with. Never more than a few chairs wait.

I skied everything there except for Breeze and Puff and I liked the good variety of terrain. Longer cruisers, bumpy steeps (Hurricane and Vortex are legit double blacks) and some fairly open glades. Base lodge was super nice and a very good network of lifts for a small mountain. Cascade Basin wasn't particularly interesting terrain wise, but it goes a long way in making the mountain ski bigger.

I've been trying to make it up to Pats for a while and work it into a larger trip and I'm really glad I did. Well worth the visit for anyone in the area, just a well run mountain all around.
